    Big-Headed Ants

Pheidole bicarinata have been known to nest in a wide variety of habitats, from pine barrens to golf courses, but typically seem to prefer sandy soil in open patches. Ph. bicarinata is a species that does exceptionally well in captivity, especially under heat.
